1929 American LaFrance Engine Rebuild

The engine on this rig was tired, it needed a total rebuild.  The cylinder jugs had many freeze cracks, the bearings were worn out and it needed 6 new pistons.

The engine was removed and disassembled.  The parts were checked for wear and damage.  All bearings were babbitted, new pistons were made and installed, and the camshaft distributor drive gear had to be welded up and recut.  All parts were painted, as was the inside of the frame rails.  All appropriate parts were plated and polished and reassembled.  A new clutch was installed too.
